The Consortium of Universities Campus Public
Safety Institute is a project of the District of Columbia
Consortium member institutions founded on the principle of
sharing resources and information.
The Institute trains campus law enforcement personnel in up-to-date
law enforcement techniques, laws, and procedures for certification
as a special police officer in the District of Columbia.
The Institute provides high caliber instruction by drawing
on the resources of member institutions, the Metropolitan
Police Department and Metro police.
A Board of Advisors administers the program and develops the
curriculum. The Board of Advisors is comprised of security
directors from each member institution including American
University, The Catholic University of America, Gallaudet
University, Georgetown University, Georgetown University Law
Center, the George Washington University, Howard University,
Trinity University and the University of the District of Columbia.
The Chair of the Advisory Board is Dolores Stafford, Director
of Campus Police, The George Washington University. The Institute
is administered twice yearly by the participating District
colleges and universities. The Campus Public Safety Institute
has been a project of the Consortium since 1991.
