Reach4Success

In partnership with American Student Assistance, the Consortium’s Reach4Success program connects students of all ages to higher education opportunities – through information advising, post-secondary “encouragement” programs, and a wide range of outreach activities and workshops.  Reach4Success programs highlight the critical link between higher education and future success and target students and families who have been traditionally underrepresented in higher education.  Reach4Success programs and services help students from middle school to graduate school, and their parents, learn about higher education options and prepare for furthering their education. Specific programs include:

Get Financially Fit for College – A six-week workshop series for low-income parents of middle school students, it combines financial literacy with college planning to help families develop a comprehensive college preparation plan.

The College Info Center (CIC) – Located at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Library in downtown DC, the CIC provides higher education information, advising, and outreach activities for students and families of all ages.

The Financial Aid Roadmap – A program that helps families prepare for college costs by providing ongoing, accurate, timely financial aid information and assistance.

Educational Talent Search – This federally-funded program through the Department of Education provides postsecondary planning and assistance to low-income, first generation students each year in five DC public middle and high schools.

Learn2Earn – This program provides information, advising, and workshops on college and career options in addition to providing help with admission and financial aid applications and student loan default management.
