DC Tuition Assistance Grant Program

THE D.C. TUITION ASSISTANCE GRANT PROGRAM (D.C. TAG) provides grants to students who are residents of the District of Columbia and have graduated from high school or received a GED after 1998.  TAG dollars cover the difference in cost between in-state and out-of-state tuition at any public institution in the country up to $10,000 per year.  A TAG grant can also be used to pay for up to $2,500 in tuition costs at any local private college or university in D.C., Maryland, or Virginia or any historically black college or university.  To qualify, students must apply within three years of graduating and mus be accepted by a participating school.  TAG grants may be used to pay for the cost of the student's first undergraduate degree.  TAG is neither a need- or merit-based program.
