  Mission and Priorities

 

MISSION

Created by private and public higher education institutions offering accredited baccalaureate and graduate degree programs in the Metropolitan Washington Area, the Consortium is a non-profit educational association committed to the advancement of higher education in the region.

The Consortium provides a forum for members to share common ideas and concerns and serves as a vehicle through which the members share resources and cooperate for the benefit of students, faculty, and the community.

The Consortium promotes the role of higher education in the region's economic and cultural life, and provides leadership on matters related to higher education in the community and in the various locations in which its members reside.

The Consortium promotes cooperation and communication between member institutions and local, state, and national governments.


PRIORITIES

· Develop and enhance cooperative opportunities for students.
· Represent the interests and concerns of the member institutions with local and   regional governmental entities.
· Provide a forum for campus representatives to develop and refine intercampus   initiatives.
· Expand and promote intercampus faculty collaboration.
· Promote the Washington Metropolitan Area as a center for higher education.
